Opportunity Details

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Rheumatology Clinical Educator to the Department of Medicine at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. The role combines inpatient and outpatient care with academic responsibilities, including supervision of fellows, residents, and medical students. The division offers Lupus Clinics, Joint Pain Clinics, Ultrasound Evaluation and Treatment Clinics, and Arthritis Clinics. The Jacobi inpatient service averages 7 consults per day, while North Central Bronx averages 3–5 consults per day. The department currently has about 110 full‑time physicians and 162 residents across 15 divisions. The goals of the division include expanding to four full‑time Rheumatologists.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient rheumatology care.
• Supervise fellows, residents, and medical students in clinical settings.
• Lead and participate in Lupus, Joint Pain, Ultrasound Evaluation, and Arthritis Clinics.
• Manage routine biologic infusion therapy for approximately 52 patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.
• Engage in academic activities, teaching, and educational program development.

Qualifications

• Board certification in Internal Medicine.
• Board certification or eligibility in Rheumatology.
• Active New York State medical license.
• Ability to speak Spanish preferred, but not required.
• Ultrasound training preferred, but not required.

Wages and Benefits

Annual Base Salary: $247,000* (Board Eligible) or $252,000* (Board Certified) based on a 40‑hour work week. Additional compensation is available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

• Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours per week: $55,520.
• Projected bonus up to $40,000, contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
