Details General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients Level II Trauma Center that is also STEMI and Stroke certified Patient ratio of 1:4 Day shift schedule alternating 3x12 and 4x12 hour shifts (11:00-23:00) on a 36/48 hour rotation Epic charting system used, experience preferred Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required 3 years of ER experience required (firm requirement) Prior travel nursing experience required Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, MAB Epic charting experience preferred Level II Trauma Center experience preferred Skilled in triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation Experience managing shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and splint application/orthopedic trauma care Two supervisor references from within the last 3 years required for consideration Additional Information Care for a wide range of ER presentations including pediatrics, psychiatric conditions, respiratory emergencies, and neurological trauma Experience with CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury cases preferred Responsibilities may include arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, and IV therapy Administration of emergency medications including IV vasopressors and continuous IV sedation/paralytics Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted First-time travelers will not be considered for this position RTO must be submitted with candidate profile License must be in-hand prior to start date American Traveler Job ID P-749884.
