Job Title: Hair Stylist / Barber

Location: 605 Commons Dr, D-2, Oxford, PA

Compensation: $25–$40/hour in effective earnings, including hourly wages and potential tips, bonuses, and incentives. Up to $1,000 sign-on bonus for eligible first-time FDG employees.

Job Summary

The Hair Stylist / Barber provides professional haircutting services in a team-oriented Great Clips salon environment. This role is designed for both experienced and newly licensed stylists who want to focus on haircutting, customer service, and continued skill development without needing to build their own clientele or pay booth rent.

Folk Design Group provides an established customer base, paid training, coaching, and opportunities for career development. Great Clips salons operated by Folk Design Group focus on haircutting and do not offer color services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide professional haircutting services to salon customers.
• Listen to customers and understand their haircut and styling preferences.
• Deliver friendly, welcoming, and customer-focused service.
• Build positive connections with customers during salon visits.
• Maintain and continue developing professional haircutting skills.
• Participate in paid training, coaching, and ongoing education.
• Work collaboratively with other stylists and salon team members.
• Share knowledge and support teammates in delivering a positive salon experience.
• Serve a variety of customers throughout the workday.
• Follow applicable salon standards and professional practices.

Required Qualifications

• Valid cosmetology or barber license meeting the requirements of the location where the employee will work.
• Interest in and enthusiasm for professional haircutting.
• Ability to listen to customers and understand their needs.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Team-oriented attitude.
• Willingness to learn and continue developing professional skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous salon, barbering, or professional haircutting experience is beneficial but not required.
• Newly licensed cosmetologists and barbers are encouraged to apply.
• Interest in continued education and professional growth.
• Desire to develop within the salon environment and potentially pursue future management opportunities.

Work Environment / Schedule

• Work is performed in a Great Clips salon operated by Folk Design Group.
• Flexible scheduling with dependable retail hours.
• Established customer traffic means employees do not need to bring or build their own clientele.
• No booth rent required.
• Primary service focus is haircutting.
• Salons do not provide color services.
• Employees work as part of a collaborative salon team.
• Paid training and one-on-one coaching are provided.
• Continued education is available through Great Clips University.
