Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead continuous improvement efforts and drive manufacturing excellence across our production operations. The role focuses on designing, optimizing, and scaling manufacturing processes to improve quality, reduce cost, and increase throughput while ensuring safety and compliance. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on engineering expertise with Lean methodologies to mentor teams and implement robust, data-driven process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, optimization, and scaling of manufacturing processes for new and existing products to meet targets for quality, cost, and delivery.
• Apply Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods (Kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping) to identify and eliminate waste across production lines.
• Design and validate process flows, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions; oversee pilot runs and production launches to ensure manufacturability and transfer to stable production.
• Perform root cause analysis (e.g., 8D, fishbone, 5 Whys) and implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality and process issues.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, PFMEA, control plans, process capability studies, and standard work to support consistent, repeatable production.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to support product changes, material selections, and supplier process improvements.
• Lead and coach shop floor teams, production engineers, and technicians on best practices, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze manufacturing data and KPIs to track performance, identify trends, and drive data-driven decisions for throughput, yield, and cost improvements.
• Manage capital projects and equipment selection/installation, including vendor evaluations, ROI analysis, and project execution.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in process design and production activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering discipline; Masters degree preferred.
• 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience in high-volume production environments; experience as a senior or lead engineer preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise with Lean manufacturing tools and continuous improvement methodologies (Kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping, SMED).
• Strong problem-solving skills with experience using root cause analysis techniques (8D, 5 Whys) and statistical process control (SPC).
• Proficiency with process design and documentation tools (PFMEA, control plans, process flow diagrams) and familiarity with CAD software.
• Experience managing production launches, capital equipment projects, and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and influence manufacturing staff at all levels.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO, TS) and regulatory compliance relevant to the industry; safety-focused mindset.
• Ability to analyze manufacturing data and KPIs using Excel, Minitab, or similar tools; data-driven decision-making orientation.
