Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Cytopathologist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor and delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. Dedicated to providing the highest quality health care services to all New Yorkers with compassion, dignity and respect, and regardless of immigration status or ability to pay.Opportunity Details:Sign-out of general anatomic pathology cases, including surgical pathology and both GYN and non-Gyn Cytology.Supervise cytotechnologists and ensure quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) compliance for Cytology.Maintain cytology statistics, SOP manuals, and regulatory compliance for all inspecting agencies.Participate in Cytology proficiency testing and reporting.Intra-operative consultations.Perform ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsies of palpable and non-palpable lesions in outpatient and inpatient settings.Conduct rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) for specimen adequacy and preliminary interpretation.Provide ongoing education to fellows, residents, medical students, and laboratory personnel in cytopathology and FNA technique.Review of abnormal Hematology slides.Participation in interdisciplinary conferences, including tumor boards and specialty-specific meetings.Performance and sign-out of postmortem examinations.Participation in departmental quality assurance activities.Teaching of medical students and clinical residents.Providing consultative input to referring physicians regarding lab findings.Occasional night or weekend coverage for frozen sections may be required.Board Eligibility/Board Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology by the American Board of PathologyBoard Eligibility/Board Certification in Cytopathology by the American Board of PathologyCompletion of a Cytopathology FellowshipNew York State Physician LicenseWages and Benefits include:Annual Base Salary: $300,000* based on 40-hour work week. Sign-On Bonus: $20,000. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.The annual total value of compensation package is estimated at $425,520**, which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings.
