Student Worker

The Advocacy and Resource Center (ARC) provides students the personal support and assistance they need to succeed in college. One of the services is the Commodore Cupboard, a Lorain County Community College food pantry available to students and the community. We seek student workers in various capacities in The Advocacy and Resource Center (ARC) office and the food pantry.

Even though a FAFSA (for financial aid) is not required to be a student employee at LCCC, we strongly encourage you to complete a FAFSA at Student Financial Aid staff are available to help you through the application process. Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Greeting clients and patrons, serving as the first point of contact, and welcoming visitors, registering, signing in, and helping people to access services. Performing office duties, including answering the phone, making copies, assisting with campus events, cleaning, stocking, data entry, and maintaining strict confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications: Must be eligible to participate in Federal Work-Study, a form of financial aid; Must be enrolled in at least six credit hours and have a 2.0 cumulative GPA; available to work during the week; reliability is a must—people will be counting on you, Sensitivity to issues of poverty and basic needs insecurity, Experience working with people/customer service is preferred but not required, and must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Established in 1963, Lorain County Community College is the first community college in Ohio with a permanent campus.
