Youth Services Specialist – Lumpkin County Library Full‑time, non‑exempt 40 hrs/week, Monday–Friday. Some nights and Saturdays required. Chestatee Regional Library System announces an opening for a Youth Services Specialist at Lumpkin County Library. Starting salary is $35,360.00 with excellent state health benefits including health, dental, vision, and life insurance. The system participates in the Teachers Retirement System of Georgia. Description The Youth Services Specialist is a public‑facing position responsible for coordinating reference and information services to youth ages 0–15 and providing programs for young people and their parents that address community needs. The role plans and implements the Summer Reading Programs for children and teens. Strong computer and technology skills are required. The specialist also supervises the branch in the absence of the branch manager and reports directly to the Branch Manager. Responsibilities Coordinate reference and information services for youth (ages 0–15) and their parents. Plan and implement programs such as the Summer Reading Program. Supervise the branch during the Branch Manager’s absence. Provide youth‑centered services in a friendly and welcoming environment. Qualifications At least two years of college or two years of public library experience, or proven experience working with children, in lieu of formal college education; high school diploma or GED required. Strong computer and technology skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work evenings and Saturdays when required.
