Instructional Support SpecialistThe Instructional Support Specialist provides hands-on, practical support to J-1 Cultural Exchange Teachers to strengthen classroom instruction, improve student outcomes, and align teaching practices with district and Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) standards. This role operates under the guidance of the Instructional Support Coach and works closely with Program Managers and district partners to ensure consistent, high-quality instructional support.This position is ideal for an experienced K–12 educator who excels at coaching, relationship-building, and translating best practices into actionable classroom strategies.Key ResponsibilitiesInstructional Support & CoachingDeliver targeted 1:1 coaching and intervention for teachers identified as needing instructional supportConduct classroom observations using TPG’s standardized rubric driven by educational best practices, and provide actionable, feedback-driven instructional guidanceSupport teachers across Elementary, Secondary, and ESE classrooms with differentiated strategiesModel effective teaching practices aligned to current instructional best practicesResource Development & DeliveryDevelop and distribute proactive instructional resources, including written guides, webinars, and in-person training sessionsMaintain and continuously update a research-based instructional resource librarySupport the implementation of instructional strategies aligned with FLDOE standards and district prioritiesCollaboration & CommunicationPartner with district instructional support representatives and school administrators to align services with local and district needsCollaborate with Program Managers to address teacher performance concerns and implement improvement plansMaintain strong, consistent communication with J-1 teachers, school administrators, and key stakeholdersSupport professional development initiatives aligned to district goals and instructional prioritiesProgram AlignmentWork closely with the Instructional Support Coach to ensure consistency and quality of support deliveryAssist in aligning instructional support efforts with broader program goals and compliance expectationsQualificationsRequired:Bachelor’s degree in education or related fieldValid teaching certification (Florida preferred or ability to obtain)Minimum 3 years of K–12 classroom teaching experienceExperience teaching in Florida schoolsStrong understanding of FLDOE standards, assessments, and accountability systemsPreferred:Master’s degree in education or a related fieldExperience in educational technology including Learning Management Systems (LMS), Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS), i Ready, ESE accommodations and differentiationExperience in instructional coaching, mentoring, or teacher leadership rolesCompletion of, or current enrollment in, district leadership cohort trainingBackground in supporting diverse learners, including ESE populationsExperience designing and delivering professional developmentSkills & CompetenciesStrong instructional expertise across K–12 settingsAbility to build trust and coach adult learners effectivelyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesCollaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skillsAbility to analyze classroom practice and provide actionable feedbackAbility to translate U.S. instructional practices, terminology, and expectations into clear, actionable guidanceAbility to build trust with teachers from diverse cultural backgrounds by showing cultural sensitivity, adaptability, and respectWork Environment & ExpectationsBased in the Jacksonville, FL area with regular local and regional travelCombination of in-person school support, virtual coaching, and webinar and event facilitationOccasional evening or weekend work for trainings or eventsPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.EEO StatementThe company provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.Please note that this job description is not designed to cover all activities, duties, or responsibilities.
