Senior Director, Software Engineering - Plano

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline, along with 10 years of experience in the role offered or in a comparable position such as Senior Director of Software/Data Engineering, Software Architecture Director, Engineering Manager, or Technical Lead.
• Alternatively, we accept a masters degree in one of the same fields plus 7 years of relevant experience in the role offered or a similar leadership or architecture position.
• We require 7 years of experience with software engineering.
• We require 7 years of experience managing and mentoring software engineers and technical leads in a matrixed organization.
• We require 7 years of experience leading large-scale software development initiatives from concept through delivery, including planning, execution, and release.
• We require 7 years of experience leading complex data modernization efforts, including system design, testing, and operational resilience.
• We require 7 years of experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems and cloud-native architectures on public or private cloud platforms.
• We require 7 years of experience applying modern development practices, including Agile and DevOps, in an enterprise setting.
• We require 7 years of experience overseeing secure coding practices and compliance with industry security standards in software products.
• We require 7 years of experience in budget planning, resource allocation, and vendor oversight within a technology organization.

• We require 7 years of experience working with open source distributed processing technologies such as Apache Spark and Apache Flink.
• We require 7 years of experience implementing data governance, data quality, data security, and data integration.
• We require 7 years of experience with a petabyte-scale batch and real-time data processing platform handling billions of events per day.
• We require 7 years of experience working with OLTP, OLAP, cloud-native data warehouses, and NoSQL databases.

• We will drive the architecture, design, and development of data platforms that enable data products and actionable insights for stakeholders.
• We will deliver data pipeline and architecture solutions that can be used across multiple lines of business.
• We will lead the delivery and expansion of enterprise-grade data processing platforms with a focus on scalability, availability, capability, and performance.
• We will provide day-to-day leadership and strategic direction while partnering with engineers and architects to align cross-functional initiatives.
• We will ensure initiatives are fiscally and technically viable.
• We will identify opportunities to strengthen the resiliency and availability of secure, high-performing public cloud platforms using our best practices.
• We will influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and data technology teams.
• We will raise engineering standards through best practices, coaching, and talent development.
• We will collaborate with teams such as Data Management, Data Publishing, and Data Governance to deliver solutions for analysts, data scientists, data engineers, software engineers, AI/ML engineers, operators, and compliance officers.
• We will lead the execution of our firm-wide migration to strategic platforms and cloud.
• We will directly manage multiple areas with a strategic transactional focus.
• We will oversee complex technology projects and programs, including resourcing, budgeting, timelines, risk management, and removal of delivery blockers.
