Director, Clinical Development (MD)

Gilead Sciences seeks a medical director to lead clinical development programs within the Virology Therapeutic Area, including respiratory and emerging virus initiatives. The role requires clinical expertise in protocol development, regulatory submissions, medical monitoring, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical development program components and deliver scientific expertise to cross-functional teams
• Develop and review clinical trial protocols, study reports, and regulatory submissions
• Conduct medical monitoring for clinical trials including safety surveillance and eligibility assessment
• Prepare and present clinical data, study results, and scientific information at conferences and meetings
• Manage multiple clinical project deliverables while supporting pandemic preparedness and outbreak responses

Requirements

• MD degree with minimum four years of relevant experience
• Clinical experience in medical monitoring or drug development
• Training or experience in infectious diseases, immunology, or pulmonology
• Demonstrated expertise in study protocol design and regulatory filings
• Strong project management and cross-functional leadership capabilities
• Knowledge of FDA, EMA regulations, ICH guidelines, and GCP standards
