Join us, where we’ll make a greater impact together.What You'll do:We are seeking an experienced Appian Test Engineering Lead to support the development of web-based applications, specifically with automation testing experience.Play a strategic role in the overall design and implementation of the quality assurance program.Lead the development of overall test strategy, test environment design, and test dataProvide leadership in the selection and hiring, training, mentoring, project performance evaluations of testing team members.Plan, execute, and report on software development and maintenance testingReview and provide recommendations regarding test documentationDevelop test plans and procedures in support of system evaluation based upon specifications and technical data articulated in requirements documentsDevelop and implement data collection plans based on data collection requirements, to include training for operators and data collectorsConduct required reviews of all data collection forms and operational logs collected during testReview Test Incident Reports for accuracy and completenessSupport analysis of documented user requirements and assists in the design of test plans in support of user requirementsWork and collaborate with testing working groups for test related issues and topicsProvide timely communication regarding upgrades and downtimes (planned & unplanned), system changes, or common issuesUnderstand how to properly report bugs and properly escalate issues as neededPerform technical reviews; ensure adherence to quality processesRequired Experience/Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in information technology or related discipline from an accredited college or university5+ years of software testing experience, working with developers, project and release managers, system administrators, business analysts, and database administrators2+ years of automation testing experienceExperience leading a team and mentoring junior team membersExperience interpreting requirements, writing quality control documentation (e.g. Test Reports), and writing user acceptance test plans (including Acceptance Criteria)Knowledge of Test Management, Automation toolsets and processesKnowledge of Performance Testing process and cadenceProficiency with test automation and test management tools, like Playwright and SeleniumGreat organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and communicate and work productively as part of fully remote and/or hybrid teamsMust be a U.S. citizen in accordance with contract requirements.Ability to obtain and maintain a TS clearance (preference given to those holding active TS clearance)This is a hybrid position and will require on-site presence at our Groundswell HQ in Mclean or other client site locations in the Norther Virginia areaDesired Qualifications:Working knowledge of the software development life cycle in general and Agile specificallyExperience with low-code platforms (Appian, Outsystems, Pega, Salesforce, etc.)Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT)Appian Analyst CertificationPublic Trust Clearance or higherSkills:Certification:Why You’ll Never Want to Leave:Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plansFlexible Spending Account4% 401K Match (immediate vesting)Paid Time OffTuition reimbursement, certification programs, and professional developmentFlexible work scheduleOn-site gym and childcare optionThe salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
