Job Details Job Location: Freer Yard - Freer, TX 78357 Truck Driver Summary of Position The Driver / Operator is responsible for operating a commercial vehicle to transport equipment, goods and/or personnel. You will be required to operate a Class A truck/trailer through all types of environments, including off‑road job sites. Essential Job Requirements Clean Driving Record – no more than two violations within the past 3 years. Comply with the Hours of Service (HOS) for intrastate and interstate operations. Operate long distances while obeying HOS requirements. Transport passengers safely and ensure all passengers are properly secured with seat belts. Be organized, punctual and reliable. Exhibit excellent driving skills and habits (Smith Driving principles). Enforce the “No Smoking” policy in the vehicle. Conduct Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR). Inspect vehicle, trailer and all required parts before and after trips; address all issues prior to operating the vehicle. Check shipping papers for load nature and special handling; verify load and securing methods, and adhere to weight restrictions. Operate company vehicle in compliance with company rules and all applicable state and federal regulations. Use a hands‑free device for cell phone use while operating the vehicle. Monitor road conditions and anticipate traffic congestion. Deliver and pick up oilfield equipment and/or fluids as required. Load and unload oilfield equipment and/or fluids as required. Obtain proper signatures on delivery forms. Report all accidents, incidents of equipment damage, or spills involving driver or company equipment to the immediate supervisor immediately. Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs. Maintain vehicle log in accordance with state and federal regulations. Take required eight‑hour consecutive break during a twenty‑four‑hour period to restart drive time. Adhere to the 24‑hour restart under Texas 7‑day/70‑hour rule for driving under DOT capacity. Keep truck and associated equipment clean and in good working order. Assist personnel from other South Texas Oilfield Solutions divisions as needed. Maintain the ability to safely operate a commercial vehicle. Read and navigate a map. Adhere to load‑securement regulations. Secure oilfield equipment on a flatbed trailer independently. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and/or Experience Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement and other required endorsements. Record‑keeping skills: accurate, timely, and complete. Minimum 2 years of experience in delivery or transportation of goods. Mechanical aptitude. Good oral communication skills. Physical readiness to respond immediately to emergencies. Valid Medical Card issued by South Texas Oilfield Solutions licensed doctor. Two years of driving experience with a clean CDL record. Physical Requirements Work outdoors in extreme heat or cold, or in shop or non‑smoke work environments. Lift up to 50 lbs. repetitiously. Good balance, sight, hearing and physical strength. Walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, squat, and climb as necessary. Repetitive twisting, bending, and crouching to reach items on the ground. Reach overhead and perform twisting or hammering actions. Stand and walk for up to 15 consecutive hours. Hand‑eye coordination and dexterity for repeated use of tools such as a pipe wrench and 8‑10 lb. sledgehammer. Safely operate a vehicle or forklift as needed; forklift operation requires current training certification from South Texas Oilfield Solutions. Drive and/or ride in a vehicle for up to 12 hours. Be clean‑shaven to properly wear respirator masks and other PPE required by OSHA regulations. Mental Requirements Use creative thinking to develop new methodologies, concepts, or programs, or solve highly complex and unique problems impacting major programs. Perform highly technical procedures requiring specialized skills. Complete competency exams. Working Conditions Travel frequently to company locations or work sites. No competitor attire allowed. Use PPE while performing job duties, including respirator mask, steel‑toed boots, fire‑retardant clothing, and H2S monitor. Follow company and customer HSE and JSA policies, procedures, industry standards, and OSHA guidelines. Comply with all state and federal DOT regulations. Obtain necessary certifications to safely operate a vehicle and forklift as required. Participate in and complete all assigned training in a timely manner.
