Job Description Requirements:
- Active RN license in state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
- 1+ years of L&D experience required
- Experience with fetal monitoring, high-risk OB, and vaginal/C-section deliveries
- Provide direct nursing care to laboring patients, monitoring maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery
- Assess and interpret fetal heart rate monitoring and uterine contraction patterns, escalating concerns as needed
- Administer medications, including labor induction/augmentation agents and epidural support, per physician orders
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and provide circulating support for cesarean sections
- Manage high-risk OB conditions (preeclampsia, hemorrhage, fetal distress) with appropriate emergency interventions
- Provide immediate newborn care and resuscitation support as needed
- Educate patients and families on labor progress, pain management options, and postpartum care
- Collaborate with OB physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and NICU team on plan of care
- Accurately document labor progress, interventions, and patient response in the EMR
- Support patient and family through the emotional and physical aspects of childbirth
