Senior Deckhand - Newport Beach - City Experiences

Starting Salary: $22.00 per hour City Experiences is seeking a Senior Deckhand for our operation in Newport Beach. About You: This individual should be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences' RESPECT Service System. About the Opportunity: The First Officer works closely with the Captain and other departments to ensure a safe and enjoyable cruise for guests and crew. This is a guest-facing role, so excellent customer service skills are essential. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Take command of the vessel if the captain becomes incapacitated. Lead onboard emergency preparedness drills. Stand bridge watch and assist in vessel navigation and maneuvering. Maintain the vessel, solve problems, and follow Captain's instructions. Assign tasks to deckhands and provide guidance. Act as on-scene leader during emergencies. Perform routine shipboard maintenance. Learn vessel systems, pumps, and mechanical gear. Prioritize guest safety and customer service. Keep all areas clean and safe. Load and unload materials, handle lines for mooring. Perform vessel maintenance, including painting, plumbing, electrical, and system checks. Stand lookout to monitor obstructions and navigational aids. Operate and maintain ship equipment. Assist with machinery maintenance. Participate in shipyard periods as needed. Provide exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers. Be punctual and maintain grooming standards. Communicate effectively with guests and team members. Work extended hours without sitting. Lift up to 50 pounds and handle heavy items. Throw mooring lines. Focus on safety and teamwork. Perform other duties as assigned by the Captain. Requirements & Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. At least 18 years old. 2-4 years maritime or mechanical experience. Leadership skills. Pre-employment and random drug testing. Normal color vision. CPR/First Aid certification. Obtain TWIC within 30 days. Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
