Public Relations Strategist

Location: Lee Health Corporate Center - 4211 Metro Parkway Fort Myers FL 33916 Department: Strategic Communications and PR Work Type: Full Time Shift: Shift 1/8:00:00AM to 4:30:00PM Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $27.57 - $35.84 / hour Summary The Public Relations Strategist supports proactive media efforts, strengthens storytelling, and enhances alignment between media relations and social media. This role focuses on developing story ideas, creating high-quality written content, and supporting the amplification of earned media across digital channels. The position works closely with media relations and social media team members to help ensure consistent, effective external communications. It is a hands-on position responsible for building and executing a steady pipeline of stories and content that supports media engagement and visibility efforts. The PR Strategist will translate complex ideas and topics for internal and external audiences in relatable ways and will work across traditional print, social and digital channels. The Public Relations Strategist will research and develop content for media coverage and thought leadership materials; build compelling content; proactively engage key influencers; and partner with team members to enhance Lee Healths reputation in our markets. Requirements Education: Bachelors degree in public relations, communications, journalism, business administration, or marketing required. an associates degree in related field with 4 years of relevant experience or 6 years relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in public relations, communications, or related field required. Healthcare or related industry experience preferred. Experience supporting media relations or earned media efforts preferred. Strong writing and editing skills (portfolio) required. Certification: Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) preferred. License: N/A Other: Ability to translate complex topics into clear, audience-friendly content required. Experience working with multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities required. Familiarity with social media content and digital storytelling. Experience working in a fast-paced communications environment. Strong writing and content development skills. Organization and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Collaborative, team-oriented Approach. Sound judgment and ability to prioritize work.
