Job Overview Title: Food Service Worker Location: New London Salary: $17.00 The Food Service Worker prepares, serves, and portions food in college dining halls, cafes, or retail locations. Responsibilities include prepping food items, operating kitchen equipment, maintaining a clean and sanitary work area, restocking supplies, and providing excellent customer service to the university community. Responsibilities Plating and setting up or tearing down café, restaurant, and retail areas. Assisting in kitchen operations, including prep, dish room, dry stock, and perishable food inventories. Maintaining sanitation and clean work areas. Operating kitchen equipment. Restocking supplies and inventory management. Providing outstanding customer service. Working as a barista, cashier, cook, or runner in retail and national brand dining outlets. Creating, transporting, setting up, serving, and breaking down banquet‑style food displays for catering events, from small business lunches to black‑tie gatherings. Qualifications Experience desired; candidates can be trained with a passion for food and a basic understanding of culinary fundamentals. Ability to apply elementary mathematical and statistical skills for inventory and portioning. Willingness to roll up sleeves and contribute where needed.
