Position: Medical Front Desk - Asthma, Allergy and Immunology of Tampa Bay Location: Tampa, FL Job Id: 1951 # of Openings: 1 Medical Front Desk The Office of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology of Tampa Bay, a division of Florida Pediatric Associates is seeking a Medical Front Desk Specialist to join their team. The Medical Front Desk Specialist is responsible for a number of administrative duties as well as providing exceptional customer service and communication to patients and family members. Performs administrative and general office functions including, but not limited to, copying, filing, and faxing and data entry. Answer telephone calls, provides information, screens and routes telephone calls to the appropriate person or department. Schedule patient appointments, follow-ups, diagnostic tests, and other health related appointments. Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits. Obtain patient authorizations as needed. Responsible for the Patient Check In process to include: Obtaining, or verifying and updating patient demographic information Insurance information in the PM system Obtain patient consent for treatment Responsible for Patient Check Out process to include: Collect patient payments, including, copayments, deductibles, coinsurance and any outstanding patient due balance amounts. Provide patient receipts End of the day reconciliation process, may be responsible for balancing and reporting daily receipts Documents in PM System. Updates patient demographics, including: contact information, benefits changes and practice policy notices. May be responsible for chart prep of scheduled appointments. Utilizes interpersonal skills to optimize medical practice satisfaction rate by effectively and carefully communicating with patients and providers. Understand and follow applicable Federal and Florida State laws and regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles related to patient HIPPA Privacy and Security.
