Dental Director Premier Community Healthcare Grp. Dade City, Florida, United States About this position General Description The Dental Director is a dentist and member of Premier Community HealthCare's Senior Leadership Team responsible for leading, developing, and expanding an integrated dental care delivery model across the organization. This position provides strategic and clinical leadership for the Dental Department while directly supervising dental providers and collaborating with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Associate Medical Directors, and executive leadership. The Dental Director promotes high-quality, patient-centered care while advancing clinical innovation, operational excellence, financial sustainability, safety, and quality improvement. The Dental Director also provides primary and preventive dental care within a community health center setting and serves as a key advocate for accessible oral healthcare throughout the communities Premier serves. Provide strategic direction and leadership for the dental service line, supporting organizational goals and priorities. Provide comprehensive primary and preventive dental care within approved clinical protocols, scope of practice, and established privileges. Diagnose dental and oral conditions, develop treatment plans, provide appropriate treatment, and refer patients for specialty care when needed. Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation of patient care in the dental record. Partner with executive leadership to establish goals, objectives, accountability measures, and performance expectations for dental programs and services. Lead change management and communication strategies supporting dental service line priorities and organizational initiatives. Build and develop a high-performing dental team through clear expectations, coaching, mentoring, professional development, and accountability. Promote collaboration between Dental, Medical, Behavioral Health, and other care teams to support integrated, patient-centered care. Partner with key stakeholders to improve dental performance, provider engagement, quality, and patient outcomes. Collaborate with executive leadership to align financial, workforce, and operational resources with strategic priorities. Provide dental leadership and expertise for new business ventures and the integration of dental services across Premier. Monitor dental staff concerns and communicate significant issues to the President & CEO and Executive Team. Prepare monthly reports for the Board of Directors regarding Dental Department activities and attend Board meetings as requested. Travel across Premier sites to engage with providers, support operations, and attend meetings as needed. Develop talent and leadership capabilities while creating a culture of teamwork, trust, accountability, and psychological safety. Represent Premier at organizational and community events and support community engagement and employee give-back initiatives. Promote accessible healthcare and service excellence throughout the Dental Department. Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality. Communicate issues that may disrupt patient flow or timely care delivery. Support Premier's mission, vision, values, and community-focused initiatives. Drive departmental goals and Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance (QI/QA) initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervise Dental Department providers, including responsibility for day-to-day operations, performance management, coaching, professional development, and annual performance evaluations. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of primary dental care in outpatient and community health settings. Knowledge of modern dentistry and the relationship between oral health, public health, and community health programs. Ability to remain current on dental trends, best practices, emerging technologies, and clinical innovations. Strong relationship-building, communication, and change management skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals across multiple disciplines. Strong strategic thinking and ability to identify opportunities, assess risk, and develop effective solutions. Ability to communicate effectively with C-Suite executives, the Board of Directors, providers, and Care Team Members. Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage complex initiatives. Ability to influence, inspire, coach, and motivate others toward improved performance and outcomes. Excellent conflict resolution and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate complex and sensitive situations thoughtfully. Strong ethical standards, professionalism, integrity, innovation, and commitment to collaboration. Ability to analyze trends, forecast workforce and operational needs, and develop strategic solutions. Demonstrated commitment to Premier's mission, vision, and values. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of dental medicine. Completion of an accredited General Practice Residency (GPR) program preferred. Unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of Florida. Minimum 10 years of successful experience as a dental practitioner. Dental Director, Dental Lead, or comparable dental leadership experience strongly preferred. Experience working in a multiple-provider dental practice. Experience with healthcare information systems and electronic health records (EHR). Ability to maintain appropriate clinical privileges as required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Eligible to obtain and maintain required federal and state narcotic registrations. Ability to obtain and maintain Epic certification and complete annual compliance training. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Ability to lift 20 lbs. regularly and 30–50 lbs. occasionally. Ability to sit for extended periods. Ability to travel to Premier Community HealthCare sites and occasionally to other health centers, conferences, or professional events as needed. Direct exposure to computer screens. Possible exposure to contagious or infectious diseases. This position requires a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
