Culbertson Memorial Hospital is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our Materials Management team. Job Summary Performs various purchasing, receiving, distribution, inventory, and printing procedures as outlined in the Materials Management policy and procedure manual. Works under the direction of Director of Materials Management. Primary Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and distribute supplies in a timely and accurate manner. Stock shelves and organize inventory in designated storage locations. Restock exchange carts throughout the facility. Assist departments with ordering supplies and locating needed items. Create purchase orders for stock and non-stock items. Verify packing slips and purchase orders for accuracy. Post requisitions and packing slips and maintain purchasing records. Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock conditions. Report damaged, missing, or incorrect shipments. Maintain proper rotation of inventory and monitor expiration dates. Pick, pack, and prepare materials for delivery to hospital clinics. Assist with physical inventory counts and inventory control activities. Re-shelf returned merchandise and supplies as needed. Complete data entry and maintain accurate files, forms, and reports. Answer department phones and relay messages promptly. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe stockroom environment. Follow the direction of the Materials Management Supervisor. Support hospital departments by providing responsive and efficient service. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic computer and data entry skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to solve minor problems and correct errors when identified. Ability to handle supply inventory and stockroom responsibilities safely and efficiently. Dependable attendance and commitment to completing assigned work. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
