For more information about Draper, visit .Job Description Summary:A Radiation Engineer 2 assesses and mitigates the impact of radiation on the performance of a system. This assessment could be in the form of analysis of environments, transport of those environments through system enclosures, modeling the interaction or radiation with components and sensors, or testing of components and sensors. Typical systems and components include inertial navigation systems, inertial sensors (accelerometers and gyroscopes), MEMS devices, ASICs, fiber optics, and other electronic components.Job Description:Duties/ResponsibilitiesSupport engineering decisions based on radiation effects on overall system performance.Design harden and verify the performance of systems across multiple radiation effects, including dose rate, total ionizing dose (TID), neutron displacement damage (NDD), and single event effects (SEE).Support interdisciplinary teams to ensure that radiation hardening is maintained across the product lifecycle.Help define and execute the approach for a particular problem and independently execute assignments.Contribute high quality content for technical reports and presentations with minimal guidanceProactively identify needs and concerns associated with design decisions and communicate them to project leadershipContribute to the updates of best practices and QMS processes to reflect the most up to date tools and procedures.Performs other related duties as neededSkills/AbilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills.
