The department combines the advantages of a community-based practice-including a strong team culture and excellent physician retention-with the resources and specialty access of a large, integrated healthcare system. Our clinicians benefit from strong nursing and provider support, readily available specialty consultation, and established transfer pathways when patients require a higher level of care. Winsted Freestanding Emergency Department Hartford HealthCare also operates a freestanding Emergency Department in Winsted , providing emergency care from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM . This provides an additional opportunity for physicians interested in practicing in a smaller, community-focused emergency care setting while remaining connected to the resources of the broader Hartford HealthCare system.
