Position: Physician – Hospital Medicine Location: Beaufort Memorial Hospital Full‑Time/Part‑Time: Full‑Time Shift: Days Exempt/Non‑Exempt: Exempt Beaufort Memorial, a not-for-profit hospital, is excited to bring its Hospital Department services in‑house and is seeking additional board‑certified Hospital Medicine Physicians to join our dedicated team. The hospitalist is responsible for delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care to hospitalized patients. They collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensure effective communication, and facilitate smooth transitions of care within the hospital and upon discharge. About the Opportunity Join a team of board‑certified Hospital Medicine Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers Shift lengths: 12‑hour shifts 7a‑7p, 7p‑7a Average patient load is 18‑20 Diverse case mix 24/7 in‑house support from Anesthesia, Pediatric Hospitalists, and Hospitalists Manage acute illnesses, chronic conditions, and complex medical cases. Trauma surgery available on‑call Access to a wide range of on‑call specialties: Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Neurology, ENT, GI, Nephrology, General Surgery, and Vascular Surgery Intensivist coverage in‑house from 7A‑7P; Hospitalists cover ICU overnight with intensivist on call The ED will respond to hospital airways or codes Position Requirements Must be familiar with a wide range of ailments, diseases, disorders, and injuries. Develops individualized treatment plans for patients, implements those plans, writes orders for medications, treatments, and tests, and provides patient care. Performs minor procedures in which they can demonstrate competency. Education Current South Carolina M.D. or D.O. required. Experience Must have successfully completed a post‑graduate residency program. Certifications / Licenses Must have a valid, current, and unrestricted SC medical license.
