Development Strategist Job Description

Baptists partner to take the gospel of Jesus to all the nations. As a member of our team, you help resource and mobilize local churches in becoming a movement of churches on mission together. We're looking for a team player who can communicate clearly to join our Operations Group as a full-time non-exempt Development Strategist. On Mission together, to provide NC Baptist ministries, staff, and churches with excellent financial and strategic development support in a manner that honors Christ. Objective: Cultivate strategic relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners to diversify financial resources beyond traditional congregational giving. This involves developing grants, pursuing strategic giving opportunities, and communicating the tangible impact of donor support to assist churches in their God-given mission to make disciples. Requirements and Responsibilities Requirements:- Education Requirement: A master's degree or equivalent is preferred.
- Prefer 5 years of experience in work related to the responsibilities of this job. Applicant must demonstrate knowledge of applicable computer software programs.
- Cultivating strategic relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners to invest in Kingdom-impacting ministry initiatives.
- Developing grants and pursuing strategic giving opportunities to diversify financial resources beyond traditional congregational giving.
- Communicating the tangible impact of ministry efforts and donor support to internal partners and external stakeholders.
- 10% employer paid contribution into your GuideStone 403b retirement account.
- Additional eligibility of a 1% match for every 3 years of service, up to max of 5%.
- Employee coverage is two times the annual salary
- Dependent coverage at Convention expense (Spouse: $5,000) (Child: $10,000)
- Pre-tax benefit account used to help pay for eligible medical, dental, vision care expenses that are not covered by insurance. Convention will contribute 499.98 to 999.96 per year depending upon employee contribution.
- Reimbursement of $10.00/month to offset cost of verified gym membership.
- While getting the primary holidays off (8 total), the convention goes beyond this by offering an extra day after Thanksgiving and a full week off for Christmas, which is not counted against your vacation leave.
- There may be a chance that some or all employees may be presented with an amount determined by the discretion of the Executive Committee.
- Eligible employees may receive up to two (2) weeks of paid parental leave following the birth of a child or placement of a child (adoption or foster).
- Special Short-Term Disability is eligible for up to six (6) weeks of paid short-term disability leave at the rate of 100% of the employee's salary.
- These benefits provide the employee with up to eight (8) weeks of fully paid leave to care for the birth of a child.
