Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring a PA or compact RN license and 1-2 years of Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele (MS/Tele) unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment length
• Charting system experience preferred, but any system accepted

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• 1-2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, including starting and maintaining IVs
• Experience with respiratory care including oxygen administration and nasal cannula
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and proper PPE use
• One supervisory reference from within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Med/Surg and telemetry patients, including monitoring and emergency response
• Must complete PA fingerprinting and ChildLine registration within 48 hours of signing a contract
• Fingerprinting must be completed in PA, with very limited exceptions in other states
• Must complete required lab work within 72 hours of signing a contract
• Candidates with prior permanent or per diem employment at this health system must have been away from the organization for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
