Fire Sprinkler Fitter

We are seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Fitter or Foreman to provide installation services for various fire sprinkler systems and components. This position is focused on project-based work in new commercial construction, such as large hospitals and banks. The role requires a candidate who can work independently or lead a job, possesses attention to detail, and can communicate effectively with project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints to install prefabricated fire sprinkler piping.
• Install new systems, retrofits, and tenant improvement type projects.
• Cut, thread, and groove pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws and pipe threaders.
• Work and coordinate with various onsite contractors and trades to resolve coordination conflicts in the field.
• Assist with job scheduling and progress in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality.
• Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other field installers and helpers.
• Conduct inspections and interact with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for testing.
• Comply with all industry-standard procedures and safety policies.

Required Qualifications

• Foreman: 8-10 years of fire sprinkler experience.
• Fitter: 2-5 years of fire sprinkler experience.

Technical Skills

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints for installation.
• Proficiency with trade-appropriate tools, including using a band saw for cutting thread rod.
• Strong working knowledge of wet, dry, and pre-action systems, as well as backflows and fire pumps.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.

Education & Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

• NICET certifications.
• Experience with the installation of underground piping.
• Completion of a Sprinkler Apprenticeship program.
• Certification in backflow inspection and repair.
