Project Accountant

Project AccountantThe Project Accountant will oversee all aspects of the company's HVAC service billings and other administrative duties as needed.Key Responsibilities of the Project Accountant:Provide updates of unbilled job/service ordersManage and process GMP billings for construction projects, ensuring adherence to contract requirements.Assist with various contract requirements, such as certified payroll reporting and minority participation reportingTrack and review project expenses to ensure they align with the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) and are billed accurately.Generate and submit monthly progress billings, maintaining detailed backup documentation for both internal and external audits.Oversee retention, lien waivers, and other billing components unique to construction projects.Track project progress and expenditures in relation to the GMP budget, identifying variances and collaborating with project teams to address and resolve issues.Provide exceptional support to internal teams, external clients, and Accounting colleagues by addressing invoicing inquiries and resolving related issues.Support the preparation and review of contracts, pre-qualification documents, and change orders.Assist with special projects and billing and collection researchEducation and Work Experience:A strong working knowledge of billing processesMinimum of 1-2+ years of relevant experience (e.g. billing, invoicing, accounts receivable)Construction experience is helpful but not requiredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Solid understanding of billing best practicesAbility to work with customers to address and resolve questions or challengesDetail oriented with strong organization skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong computer proficiencies in the Microsoft suite of products and the ability and interest in learning new softwareExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situationsAbility to develop and maintain effective relationships with accounting staff, operational leaders, and customersAlways demonstrate a leadership imageMMC is a division of APi Group, an energetic organization providing leadership to a diverse family of companies dedicated to delivering innovative solutions to the construction industry.APi Group and its subsidiary companies are equal opportunity employers and part of the Drug-Free Workplace Act.Why work at MMC?Building Your Future is How We Build Ours.
