Senior Detailer

Leads the detailing function and coordinates the work activities of employees involved in the preparation of shop and field documents. Works closely with other departments to ensure that work performed by the Detailing department meets the requirements of the Company. Position Description Key Responsibilities: Responsible for detailing model accuracy and the quality of all output, including but not limited to, advanced bills of material, shop drawings, erection drawings, shop bolt summaries, field bolt summaries, field bolt point to point reports, buyout reports, and drawing lists. Responsible for compliance with all project contract requirements, applicable codes, Merrill Quality Manual, Quality Procedure, Detailing Standards, and industry best practices. Responsible for the collection, organization and distribution of all technical information to detailers and subcontractors. Including but not limited to design documents and specifications, requests for information, and return from approval documents. Responsible for tracking and prioritizing all requests for information and submittals to aid in their timely return. Responsible for moderating the weekly technical meetings including recording and distributing meeting notes. This also includes creating and distributing reports and/or agendas prior to the meeting. Responsible for documenting and answering all shop and field questions, expedited resolution. Shop and field questions are to be tracked and distributed to all detailers to eliminate their repetition. Responsible for ensuring all design changes are incorporated. This includes assisting the project team in quantifying all additional material and labor required. All other duties as needed. Position Requirements Skills, Abilities & Experience. Associate’s degree in: Architectural Structural Design or Civil Engineering from CVTC preferred. Eight years of experience preferred. Three years of leadership experience preferred. Expertise in drawing standards, fabrication practices, erection practices, OSHA subpart R requirements, AWS requirements, and AISC requirements.
