Production Engineer

I'm partnering with a leading industrial processing organization that is developing and operating large-scale facilities supporting critical materials and advanced manufacturing supply chains. This is an excellent opportunity for a Production Engineer looking to play a key role in plant commissioning, startup, optimization, and ongoing operations within a complex sulfuric acid production environment. Key Responsibilities Provide technical support for sulfuric acid production and utility systems, including sulfur furnaces, converters, absorption towers, waste heat recovery, acid circulation, and emissions control systems Support commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities for new plant systems and equipment Monitor process performance and identify opportunities to improve production rates, energy efficiency, reliability, environmental performance, and product quality Lead and support OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) initiatives to drive plant performance and continuous improvement Troubleshoot process upsets, equipment issues, and operational inefficiencies while developing effective corrective actions Assist with the development and improvement of operating procedures, training materials, startup/shutdown procedures, and alarm management strategies Support KPI tracking and reporting related to production, efficiency, reliability, and environmental compliance Participate in HAZOPs, PHAs, MOCs, RCAs, and other process safety and continuous improvement programs What We're Looking For Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline Strong understanding of chemical processing operations, heat transfer, fluid flow, process control systems, and unit operations Ability to review and interpret PFDs, P&IDs, process data, control narratives, and operating procedures Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve complex process and operational issues Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across operations, maintenance, engineering, and project teams Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills Preferred Experience 0-5 years of experience within chemical processing, mining, refining, metals, energy, or other heavy industrial operations Experience with sulfur-burning sulfuric acid production processes Plant commissioning, startup, or operational readiness experience Knowledge of process safety management (PSM), OSHA requirements, and environmental compliance standards Familiarity with DCS systems, plant historians, and process trending tools What\'s on Offer Opportunity to support the startup and operation of a major industrial processing facility Exposure to complex chemical processing and utility systems Career growth within a rapidly expanding industrial organization Collaborative environment with strong technical and operational leadership Competitive compensation and benefits package #J-18808-Ljbffr
