Primary Purpose:
The director will provide strategic leadership for the district's K-12 Career and Technical Education (CTE) program, ensuring a seamless pipeline that prepares students for college, career, and military readiness through high-quality instruction and industry-aligned experiences. The LEA will maintain auditable documentation to ensure the position was determined through a needs assessment and is included in the campus improvement plan and district improvement plan.

Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certification
- Master's Degree
- Texas Principal or appropriate administrator certificate (preferred)
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
- Certified Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) appraiser (or obtain within first year)
- Candidates must have a satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50) paid by an employee.
- Minimum three (3) years' teaching experience
- Minimum three (3) years' administrative and/or leadership experience
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Working knowledge of federal and state code governing CTE
- Ability to manage budget and personnel
- Ability to implement policy and procedures
- Management style compatible with the position
- Knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of standard for CTE facilities, supplies, and materials
- Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interpret data

- Define and articulate a comprehensive long-term strategic vision for the district's CTE program that aligns with emerging industry trends, regional workforce demands, and post-secondary goals.
- Lead the design and implementation of multi-year initiatives to expand CTE access, increase industry-based certification (IBC) attainment, and reduce opportunity gaps across all student groups.
- Collaborate with district leadership, campus administration, and industry partners to ensure CTE programs are seamlessly integrated into the district's overarching vision for College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR).
- Drive programmatic innovation by continuously evaluating efficacy through data analysis, research, and stakeholder feedback to pilot new, future-ready career pathways.
The director promotes improvement of instruction through activities such as the following:
- Align CTE programs with relevant certifications, licensures, and industry requirements to the greatest extent possible.
- Ensure CTE programs assist students, including special populations, in the development of skills necessary for employment (i.e. interview skills, application skills, 21st century skills, etc.).
- Coordinate, research, and inform the instructional programs in CTE.
- Coordinate the review and selection of instructional materials and supplies in CTE program.
- Plan, coordinate, communicate, and facilitate the implementation of new instructional programs in CTE.
- Develop, manage, and allocate of the annual budgets for CTE programs.
- Direct the implementation of K-12 career awareness and exploration initiatives to ensure a cohesive, developmentally appropriate pipeline into secondary CTE programs.
- Oversee district-wide Industry-Based Certification (IBC) attainment, setting targets and monitoring program efficacy to ensure students achieve recognized credentials.
The director assists with fostering analytical and collaborative environment activities such as the following:
- Compile, maintain and file all reports, records and other required documents.
- Respond promptly to all internal data requests and ad hoc research projects for District and campus administrators.
- Use technology-rich data to collect, organize, and analyze assessment data to determine the extent to which all students at all levels are achieving state and federal standards.
- Analyze dynamic regional market data to offer suggested CTE programing and staffing requirements.
- Direct the effective implementation of the district's improvement plan addressing CTE.
The director manages administrative, fiscal, and facilities functions responsibly through activities such as the following:
- Participate and guide CTE development at the campus and District level.
- Collaborate with core content to effectively integrate core curriculum priorities with CTE.
- Assist in CTE programmatic planning, including course selections, coherent sequencing, and modification.
- Manage federal CTE funding including timely submission of grant applications and reports.
- Review CTE program offerings to ensure alignment with job opportunities within the area and state.
- Ensure processes are in place to provide assistance to students making career choices.
- Assist special education and general education personnel in correct placement of students with special needs in CTE classes.
- Establish systematic procedures for identifying accomplishing goals.
- Organize and assign CTE resources to maximize student achievement, increase positive teacher performance, and increase capacity of district and campus staff.
The director promotes a positive tone for school or community relations through activities such as the following:
- Consult with parents, staff, and students.
- Manage CTE social media accounts and direct CTE promotional activities.
- Maintain an effective CTE Advisory Committee.
- Foster collaborative educational efforts among members of the total school community.
- Seek support for school programs and involve himself or herself in community activities that foster rapport between the school district and the larger community.
- Manage and cultivate strategic external industry partnerships (e.g., Tesla) to expand opportunities for student internships, job placement, and enhanced, real-world instruction.
- Facilitate communication within the District and between the District and the community.
The director provides leadership in professional growth and development through activities such as the following:
- Develop and deliver research-based professional development aligned to District goals and initiatives.
- Develop and deliver professional development to optimize administrative support for the CTE program.
- Participate in professional organizations and take the initiative to develop needed professional skills, including university projects, regional service providers, and vendors.
- Stay current in areas of instructional innovations, industry specific requirements, and college credit connections.
- Determine and implement evaluative information for improvement of performance.
- Facilitate and lead CTE-specific Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to foster teacher collaboration, analyze student data, share best practices, and improve instructional delivery across all campuses.

- May report to various campuses within the district for a full work day.
- Work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress.
- Continual standing, walking, lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling and kneeling.
- Frequent exposure to: temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise, low or intense illumination vibration. Occasional exposure to: biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.), work outside, work around moving objects or vehicles, work on uneven surfaces.
