Staff Chemical/Civil/Environmental Engineer 1 – Phoenix, AZ Full-time technical support role on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities include field sampling, permitting, compliance, and project documentation. Duties/Responsibilities Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by performing work in accordance with the company and client health and safety protocols. Collect, synthesize, and analyze data using industry-standard procedures. Conduct due diligence assessments and environmental compliance audits. Perform field sampling for soil, groundwater, ambient air, and vapor intrusion investigations. Prepare environmental permit applications and plans for air quality, stormwater, SPCC, land reclamation, aquifer protection, and industrial discharge. Assist with the operation and maintenance of groundwater remediation systems. Support studies evaluating the technical and economic feasibility of remedial alternatives for site cleanup. Draft technical sections of project communications and reports. Assist with technical scopes of work and cost estimates for small to medium-sized projects. Prepare documentation of subcontractor activities, including daily field reports and tracking spreadsheets. Prepare bid packages and solicit bids from subcontractors and vendors. Proactively manage assigned tasks to support project delivery on schedule, within budget, and consistent with client-agreed quality standards. Provide assistant project management support, including assistance with proposal writing and routine invoice review. Minimum Skills and Requirements Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. 0‑2 years of related engineering experience. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification strongly preferred, or ability to obtain within six months. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office software. Ability and interest in obtaining professional engineering registration. Ability to travel to temporary assignments across the United States. Valid driver’s license. Reliable transportation for travel to project sites and the office. Ability to troubleshoot and manage mechanical parts and equipment independently in the field. Ability to comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior outlined in the company charter. Ability to comply with company and client health and safety protocols. Preferred Skills Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
