Operations Manager

Pay Range $21.75 - $40.75 Purpose This position is responsible for all aspects of store operations, which include providing an exceptional shopping experience to every customer through established company guidelines concerning sales, customer service, and associate education. The role ensures the store is a safe workplace and provides a safe shopping experience while maximizing company profitability by managing store operations. Major Responsibilities Read and review profit and loss statements to identify areas for improvement. Utilize computer and point‑of‑sale systems to maintain accurate inventory and manage the cycle count process. Maintain inventory integrity by supervising cycle count and inventory counting processes. Assist the General Manager in handling store‑level human resources or loss prevention issues as necessary. Supervise cash handling practices and ensure communications to the corporate finance department. Coordinate facility management to guarantee safety and security of customers and employees. Assist the General Manager in staying within budget for controllable expenses and driving profitability. Ensure brand standards and operating standards meet or exceed expectations to support brand consistency. Ensure store presentation standards are achieved and maintained. Support, model, and enhance seamless customer service by creating a friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and quick environment for customers and co‑workers. Engage customer focus during pick‑up and check‑out processes. Handle claims and other KCM/MOD duties as needed. Ensure maximum scheduling coverage, especially during peak traffic periods. Interface with corporate headquarters employees. Record‑keep and report inventory, HR‑related matters, and cash office records. Ensure web orders are shipped, including samples (e‑commerce). Manage the checkbook for P&L and assist the CEM with operational budget/spending and adherence. Assist the sales team with resets, displays, and display credits (merchandising). Administer W/C matters and associated claims and maintain OSHA logs in coordination with the Store Support Center. Warehouse/Logistics: Direct or supervise truck appointments, communicate scheduling, and manage scheduling issues. Assist with customer pick‑ups, auditing storage, and maintaining pre‑sales/FDX. Involved in sales reset in accordance with warehouse team (pack‑out/overnight). Review and assess associate performance on a timely basis. Train, develop, supervise, and define associate workloads. Ensure the store adheres to COP/SOPs. Manage direct reports to ensure performance. Monitor associate retention and career development; communicate ideas to the General Manager. Address and document unsatisfactory performance and policy violations through disciplinary action and performance counseling. Ensure compliance with scheduling, hiring, payroll, and business planning processes. Monitor, maintain, and follow company policies; support company expectations and systems. Be available to open and/or close the store effectively. Perform additional managerial duties as necessary. Minimum Eligibility Requirements 3‑5 years of retail management experience and proven ability to direct operations. Ability to perform in a high volume, highly complex location. Demonstrated initiative and self‑starter attitude. Proficiency in recruiting, hiring, and training associates. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Independent discretion and judgment in managing a fast‑paced environment while adapting to change with a sense of urgency. Excellent customer service skills and ability to work well under pressure. Working Conditions Occasional travel may be required, including air and car travel. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate. Physical/Sensory Requirements Physical work includes the ability to exert 30–60 pounds of force occasionally, and 20–30 pounds frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Use of hands and fingers for handling or feeling is often required. The employee frequently stands, walks, reaches with arms and hands, climbs or balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
