Travel Surgical Technologist

American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist with Neuro/Spine experience for a day shift OR position at a comprehensive hospital in Birmingham, AL.

Job Details

• Position is based in the Main OR of a 595-bed Joint Commission-accredited hospital in Birmingham, AL,
• Neuro/Spine surgical specialty with additional experience in Ortho and Vascular preferred,
• Day shift schedule running 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM,
• 1:1 patient ratio in a 24-bed surgical unit,
• On-call requirements on weekends, distributed evenly by the unit coordinator,
• EMR system is Cerner,
• 13-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Neuro/Spine surgical technologist experience required,
• BLS certification required - must be from the American Heart Association (AHA); American Red Cross not accepted,
• Proficiency with standard OR equipment,
• License required if applicable,
• SSN and DOB required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Experience with robotic (Da Vinci) surgery and maxillofacial procedures is preferred,
• Scrub color required is ceil blue or royal blue,
• Fleece, hooded garments, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and nail polish are not permitted,
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility - local candidates are not accepted,
• All certifications must be AHA-issued and must not be expired or expiring within 30 days of the start date,
• The facility is a recognized center of excellence for stroke care, cardiovascular services, bariatrics, and surgical care, including minimally invasive procedures
