The CT Technologist operates specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' human anatomy which aid the radiologist in the diagnosis of a wide variety of diseases and disorders. The CT Technologist will be knowledgeable with the CT scanner and understand how to manipulate scans to accommodate for patients' size, motion and to reduce any undesirable artifacts. All CT Technologists will follow departmental policy and procedures in regards to ALARA, possible pregnancy, and scanning protocols as directed by the radiologist. Taking stand-by may be a necessary responsibility according to hospital needs. This is a journey-level position for a CT Technologist with at least two years of acute care hospital facility employment experience. Formal Training in an accredited Radiological program with an Associates degree in Radiology2. Technical ability to perform all diagnostic radiography examinations as outlined in the MarinHealth Diagnostic Imaging Services department policy and procedure manual2. Demonstrate understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology and medical terminology.3. Must maintain high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure techniques.4. Ability to interact with general public, clients, staff and referring physicians with diplomacy, tact and goodwill5.
