The incumbent installs, configures, and troubleshoots system hardware, software, and network equipment, coordinates user training, and develops information management plans. Responsibilities Perform system administration functions to control systems and attain maximum utilization and efficiency. Design and implement system security measures such as backups, access control, system accounting, and disaster recovery. Participate in the development and implementation of agency information system policy. Develop, coordinate, and conduct agency-wide training programs to provide personnel with required skills and knowledge. Research, recommend, install, and configure hardware, software, and networks for PCs/servers with multi‑user operating and/or networking systems. Perform fault isolation and repairs in a complex computing/networking environment independently or with vendor or other technical personnel. Coordinate internal data management plans and collaborate with personnel from other agencies to avoid duplication and maximize efficiency. Participate in planning, implementation, and management of special projects to develop project management skills. Direct and oversee the work of system support staff to ensure efficient and effective work output. Pass required background checks (fingerprinting may be required) as a condition of employment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Knowledge of complex multi‑user network systems, operating systems on PCs and servers, and complex software applications. Knowledge of proper computer system data security and backup procedures. Knowledge of basic supervisory techniques. Ability to develop and manage user‑oriented computing activities. Ability to develop and coordinate training programs. Ability to train personnel in all phases of computer utilization and application. Ability to communicate effectively and write clearly and effectively. Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical computer problems. Ability to perform research and make recommendations to management on technical computer issues. Ability to draft agency automated information system policies, procedures, and standards. Ability to perform work requiring lifting and/or physical exertion. Minimum Qualifications A minimum of 3 years of a combination of related post‑secondary education, technical certifications, or technology‑related work experience. Related training or internship experience may be credited on a month‑per‑month basis. Benefits Paid holidays: 13 days annually. Sick leave: 12 days annually.
