Job Title: NICU Registered Nurse


Hourly Pay Rate: $56.95


Job Description:
Must have delivery attendance experience. 3 Years Experience Required. Epic Experience Required. NO FIRST TIME TRAVELERS.
Patient Ratio: 1:2-3.
Float Requirement: Yes, may float to Neonatal Observation Unit (NOU) with 1:4-6 ratios. Will be expected to float to the normal newborn nursery.
Weekend Requirement: Yes, every other weekend.
Holiday Requirement: Yes, at least 1 major and 1 minor holiday.
Scheduling: Self-scheduling, every other weekend obligation, 2 major and 1 minor holiday (Full-Time) and (PRN) 1 major and 1 minor holiday.
Required Certifications: BLS & NRP.
Unit Info:

• Attend deliveries (vaginal and C-section) and assist with transition of the newborn.
• Admit neonates to NICU, discharge neonates, admit newborns to NOU, discharge NOU newborns home.
• Coordinate care with patient care team (NNP, MD, RN, Social Services, RT, Radiology, OT, etc).
• Educate and update parents; assist new mothers with breastfeeding.
• Skills include placement of IVs in neonates, drawing labs, compassion, empathy, and customer service skills.
• Experienced level III NICU nurse.
• Management of ventilators and central lines.
• Administration of medications (IV, IM, SQ, ETT, OGT, NGT, orally, rectally, and topically; eye drops or ointment), and blood administration.
  Procedures performed include:
• Assisting with chest tube insertion.
• Assisting with PICC, UAC, and UVC placement.
• Assisting with x-rays, CBG, ABGs, ultrasounds, echocardiograms, EEGs, intubation, oxygen, nitric oxide, and exchange transfusions.

Shift: Night, 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)
