Systems Administrator Mid-Level

With continued growth comes opportunity, and we are currently searching for a Top‑Secret SCI with polygraph‑cleared Mid‑Level Systems Administrator. Responsibilities Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems. Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provides support to IT systems including day‑to‑day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity, and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements and updates to improve reliability, security, and performance. Creates, and maintains RedHat Linux virtual machines running in a cloud infrastructure (Amazon AWS). Evaluates systems for IAVA compliance and applies necessary security updates/patches. Performs command line system administration tasks on virtual machines. Handles regular system backups and periodically tests backups for functionality. Communicates with developers and dev ops team members to provide system administration support. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Apply patches and upgrades. Troubleshoot server issues. Administer customer accounts. Deploy monitoring tools. Deploy applications and tools. Assist with escalated customer tickets. Installation and cabling of equipment. Requirements Requires TS/SCI with FS Polygraph. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline. 10 years' experience as a SA in programs of similar scope, type, and complexity. 5 years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. Linux command line system administration (CentOS, RedHat, Amazon Linux, or equivalent). Experience applying system updates via yum or equivalent patching repository. Experience working within a cloud environment a plus (Amazon AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud infrastructure with virtual machines). Experience or knowledge of RedSeal Network Mapping tool a plus. Knowledge of software deployed on systems a plus but not required (Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, Nifi). Desired Syslog/NxLog. Nagios or other similar monitoring applications. Final salary can also be influenced by a position’s geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.
