About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse – Neuro ICU Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, with 3-6 months of travel experience preferred. License: Active RN license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Level 1 trauma experience - Experience with EVD Description: Candidates must have strong neuro assessment skills and experience in ICP monitoring. The unit is looking for professionals with a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience in large facilities with Level 1 trauma experience. The role will involve caring for patients with neuro diagnoses requiring critical care. Common procedures may include craniotomies, brain tumor removals, ablations, brain biopsies, complicated spine surgeries, and scoliosis repairs. All RNs will be expected to complete a skills lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes. Travel nurses are required to float between all ICU floors and various tele units. The ratio of patients may vary from 1:2 in the ICU to 4:1 on telemetry. Candidates must pass a written exam on the first day of orientation. Failure to maintain a sterile field during skills assessments may result in termination from the program. Cancellation of shifts may occur based on hospital requirements. Floating is mandatory between all ICU units. The hospital is known for its dedication to neurosurgical training and research.
