Sales Associate, Balsam Hill Studio - Laguna Beach

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused individual to join our Balsam Hill Studio retail store in Laguna Beach, CA. In the part-time Sales Associate role, you will help ensure our customers experience the magic of Balsam Hill in an inspired holiday setting.

The Sales Associate supports the store management team by delivering exceptional customer experience, contributing to sales performance, and consistently executing store standards. From engaging customers and demonstrating effective selling behaviors to supporting merchandising, inventory, and daily operations, the Sales Associate plays an important role in the success of Balsam Hill Studio. We are especially excited about candidates who enjoy connecting with customers, working toward sales goals, and contributing to a positive, high-performing store team!

What you’ll do:

• Greet and assist customers to understand their needs and recommend the right products


• Help the store hit sales goals by making the most of each customer interaction


• Follow daily priorities and act on feedback from store leaders to keep things running smoothly


• Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and visually appealing throughout your shift


• Handle transactions, process shipments, organize stock, and assist with opening and closing tasks accurately


• Share customer feedback and observations with leadership to help improve the store experience


• Follow company policies around safety, inventory, and loss prevention


• Be a positive, collaborative team member who puts customers first

What you bring to the table:

• 1+ years of retail or customer-facing experience preferred


• Experience in specialty, boutique, luxury, gift, home, or visual-led retail is a plus


• Customer-focused with an interest in creating positive, personalized shopping experiences


• Strong communication and selling skills with the ability to understand customer needs and recommend products


• Comfortable working toward sales goals and contributing to store performance


• Organized, dependable, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced retail environment


• Collaborative, open to feedback, and willing to learn and adapt


• Comfortable using iPads, point-of-sale systems, and basic computer tools


• Flexible and willing to support merchandising, inventory, operations, and other store needs

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work onsite at the Laguna Beach store


• Ability to lift, bend, kneel, and climb

Notes:  The Sales Associate role is a part-time, in-person position expected to be under 20 hours per week. Scheduling will flex with the store's seasonal operating hours — higher during peak summer and holiday seasons, lower in Q1.

The pay rate for this position is: $29.00 per hour.
