Executive Assistant to the CEO
$65k - $95kRocky Mountain Prep Creekside Elementary Charter School
Location: Network Support Team (NST) positions are primarily in person, with team members expected to work on-site 80% of the week at the NST office or one of our Rocky Mountain Prep campuses, based on the needs of their role and the organization. Team members may work remotely up to 20% of the week. This structure keeps our NST team closely connected to the staff, students, families, and communities we serve while allowing for limited flexibility to work remotely.
The RMP PromiseRocky Mountain Prep is a movement of educators, families, scholars, and advocates committed to changing public education in Colorado by democratizing college access for historically marginalized students and families. We operate twelve college-preparatory schools serving students from early childhood through twelfth grade, and we are fundamentally a world-class learning organization that invests deeply in every educator who joins us. Teachers engage in ongoing coaching and professional development, supported by clear expectations, transparent feedback, and opportunities to strengthen their craft and advance along individualized career pathways grounded in our PEAK values. Rooted in a culture of rigor and love, RMP promises to coach, develop, and champion every team member so they can do their best work and grow as professionals, people, and leaders.
RMP’s Big Five Goals
Every RMP team member plays a role in advancing our shared goals for student success and organizational strength. Our Big Five Goals establish the key outcomes we are working toward together across our schools and network:
- Student Achievement: 60% average proficiency on CMAS & PSAT by Spring 2027; zero schools rated Orange or Red on the 2027–28 Colorado School Performance Framework
- Financial Sustainability: 5,100 students enrolled, as measured by October Count; $4MM in total philanthropic gifts during the 2026–27 school year
- Parent Satisfaction: 90% regular attendance; no more than 10% chronic absenteeism
- Staff Engagement & Enablement: 75% annual staff retention from July 2026 to July 2027
- Student Persistence — Health & Wellness: 90% year-over-year student persistence from September 2026 to September 2027
Each team member contributes to these goals through their role and collaboration across RMP.
About the Role
The Executive Assistant to the CEO is Rocky Mountain Prep’s chief anticipator — the person who stays two steps ahead of the CEO, not two steps behind. This is not a traditional administrative role: it is a strategic operations partnership built around one person’s effectiveness, discretion, and pace. The Executive Assistant owns the CEO’s calendar, meeting preparation, and daily operating rhythm; anticipates what the CEO will need before she asks; and treats the unglamorous work of keeping a CEO ready and on track — building agendas, prepping materials, managing logistics — as real, valued operational work, not lesser work. This person is proactive by default: they flag what’s coming, surface what needs attention, and build the systems that keep the CEO’s time aligned to her highest priorities, rather than waiting for a daily task list. This role focuses exclusively on the CEO’s personal readiness and operating rhythm, including her preparation for Board and governance moments — it does not coordinate work across NST teams or own network-wide logistics, which sit with other functions. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can represent the CEO warmly and credibly to any audience, brings genuine professional polish, and is equally comfortable thinking two steps ahead strategically and handling next-step logistics personally.
The Executive Assistant to the CEO at Rocky Mountain Prep will...
Proactive Calendar & Time Stewardship
- Own and proactively manage the CEO’s calendar, anticipating conflicts, protecting time for driving priorities, and building the week around what matters most before issues arise — not just reacting to requests as they land.
- Coordinate travel, direct-report check-ins, and external meetings with an eye toward the CEO’s energy and focus, not just scheduling availability.
- Help the CEO remain accessible and approachable while thoughtfully managing requests on her time — rerouting what can be better handled elsewhere with care and professionalism.
Meeting & Agenda Operations
- Build agendas and prepare the CEO for her standing meetings, 1:1s, and Cabinet check-ins — arriving at each with a point of view on what needs to be covered, not waiting to be told.
- Facilitate executive meetings by managing time effectively, keeping discussions on track, and driving follow-up on action items after the CEO’s meetings.
- Anticipate what’s on the horizon — flagging upcoming decisions, deadlines, and moments that need the CEO’s attention before they become urgent.
Executive Communications & Materials Support
- Assist with presentations, briefings, and reports the CEO needs for key engagements, including stakeholder updates and strategic planning sessions.
- Represent the CEO professionally and warmly in day-to-day correspondence and scheduling communications with internal and external stakeholders.
Operations & Process Excellence
- Treat the operational and logistical work of supporting a CEO — building systems, tracking details, managing the unglamorous parts of the job — as real, valued strategic work, not administrative overhead.
- Continuously optimize the processes and systems within the Office of the CEO to improve productivity and reduce friction in the CEO’s day-to-day operations.
- Manage ad hoc requests and shifting priorities with composure, judgment about what’s urgent versus what can wait, and a bias toward solving problems before they reach the CEO’s desk.
Guardianship of the CEO’s Time and Well-being
- Proactively support the CEO’s sustainable pace, recognizing the importance of balance and resilience in her leadership, and building that awareness into how her calendar and week are constructed.
All Teachers at Rocky Mountain Prep will:
Take ownership of student outcomes by setting high expectations, using data to guide instruction, and ensuring all scholars grow through strong planning, rigorous teaching, and timely re-teaching. They build inclusive, relationship-centered classrooms by implementing proactive routines, culturally responsive practices, and consistent communication with families. RMP teachers collaborate closely with colleagues and support staff, contribute to school-wide initiatives, and support daily operations to maintain a safe and organized environment. They also model RMP’s PEAK values in all interactions and remain flexible and responsive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment aligned to our evolving Concept Essence.
Required :
- Demonstrated ability to work proactively and anticipate needs — this role is not a fit for someone who prefers to be told exactly what to do each day.
- Experience operating as a strategic partner to a senior leader, not a traditional administrative support role; comfortable with both big-picture anticipation and hands-on logistics in the same day.
- Exceptional organizational skills and follow-through, with the ability to manage a fast-moving, high-stakes calendar without dropping details.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the presence and polish to represent the CEO credibly to Board members, senior leaders, families, and external partners.
- Unwavering discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
- A collaborative, easy-to-work-with style paired with the confidence to make judgment calls and push back thoughtfully when needed — not a passive order-taker, and not someone who views operational work as beneath them.
- Comfortable holding ambiguity and building structure into a fast-paced, evolving role.
- Experience working across multiple functional areas and diverse stakeholder relationships, with the range to navigate different audiences, priorities, and working styles with ease.
- Strong technical fluency, particularly with Google Suite and AI tools, using technology to work faster and smarter rather than as an afterthought.
- Business acumen — a working understanding of core enterprise metrics and drivers, with the judgment to help translate that understanding into informed recommendations for the CEO’s priorities and decisions.
- Demonstrated success operating in high-volume, high-urgency environments without losing accuracy, composure, or judgment.
- A genuine feedback-seeker — someone who actively solicits input on their own work and performance, and visibly uses it to grow, rather than treating feedback as something to endure.
- We use E-Verify to confirm the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires.
Preferred :
- Prior experience supporting a CEO, executive director, or senior nonprofit/education leader.
- Experience supporting or preparing materials for a Board of Directors or governance function.
- Experience in a charter school network, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization.
Education :
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Salary
- The salary range for Manager positions is $65,000 to $95,000 , with placement within the range based on experience and other relevant factors.
- Performance Bonus: In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to earn an annual performance bonus of up to 10% of annual base salary , based on achievement of Rocky Mountain Prep’s established network-wide organizational goals.
