Electrical Assembler

Electrical Technician | First Shift

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to build, wire, test and document electrical control panels and cable assemblies for production and prototype projects. The role focuses on accurate interpretation of blueprints and diagrams, precise electrical wiring and component assembly, and adherence to quality, safety and production procedures. The successful candidate will support production orders, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities in a manufacturing or R&D environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and production orders to assemble control panels and wire harnesses accurately.
• Build and install electrical components and hardware into control boxes and enclosures following mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Perform electrical wiring, soldering and crimping of terminations; route and secure wire/cable assemblies to industry and company standards.
• Conduct continuity, insulation and functional testing of assemblies using diagnostic and test equipment; document test results and record any nonconformances.
• Follow assembly, installation and procedure manuals to ensure repeatable, high-quality builds; maintain traceability of parts and work performed.
• Collaborate with engineering, R&D and quality teams to support prototype builds, design changes and product validations.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose assembly and wiring issues; implement corrective actions and report recurring errors or design concerns.
• Adhere to safety requirements, lockout/tagout and company facility policies while maintaining a clean, organized work area consistent with 5S principles.
• Maintain tools and light maintenance of production fixtures and jigs; escalate or perform repairs per maintenance procedures when required.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve assembly processes, reduce defects and optimize throughput.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED with trade school education.
• 1+ years panel-building experience.
• Experience in electrical wiring and assembly of control panels, junction boxes or similar electrical enclosures.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams and production orders.
• Hands-on skill with soldering and crimping techniques.
• Familiarity with electrical test and diagnostic equipment and basic testing procedures.
• Good manual dexterity and experience installing components inside enclosures.
• Working knowledge of electrical safety practices, lockout/tagout and facility safety requirements.
• Experience following procedure manuals, documenting work and maintaining traceability for quality purposes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in production and R&D environments; comfortable supporting prototypes and design iteration.
