Acute Travel Registered Nurse (Med/Surg)

We are seeking an experienced Acute Travel Registered Nurse specializing in Medical/Surgical care. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.

Job Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Medical/Surgical setting.
Monitor patient health and progress, managing and administering medications as prescribed.
Perform assessments and develop nursing care plans based on patient needs.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
Assist with patient education and emotional support.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health records (EHR).
Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives.
Engage in professional development and continuous learning opportunities.

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in Med/Surg.
NIH Stroke Scale certification is mandatory.
Experience with dysrhythmia monitoring preferred.
Ability to perform swallow screening is a plus.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Unit Information

Number of Beds: 22
Patient Ratios: 5:1 to 6:1
Equipment: Mindray vital sign machines, GE EKG, cardiac monitors
Patient Population: Adult

Schedule Requirements

Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
Availability for 2 of 4 weekends per schedule, or 4 of the 8 weekend shift days.
Candidates must be available for holiday shifts as determined during screening.

Dress Code

Scrub Color: Any
Unacceptable Attire: Hoodies, t-shirts, shirts with wording or pictures, facial piercings.
