Tax Associate

Overview A leading national law firm is seeking a highly qualified Tax Associate to join its Tax Practice Group across multiple offices, including Atlanta, Chicago, Kansas City, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. The successful candidate will work on a range of complex federal tax matters, advising clients on entity formation, transaction structuring and M&A-related tax issues within a collaborative and growing national practice. This opportunity is particularly well suited to a 2+ year associate with strong tax experience gained in a major accounting firm or law firm environment who is looking to develop their career within a sophisticated and dynamic platform. What You'll Do Conduct research and analysis on complex federal tax issues. Advise clients on entity formation, transaction structuring and tax considerations in mergers and acquisitions. Assist with the tax aspects of corporate transactions and strategic structuring matters. Draft memoranda and provide technical tax analysis for clients and internal teams. Work collaboratively with attorneys across corporate, M&A and other transactional practice groups. Support client service initiatives and contribute to the continued growth of the firm's national tax practice. About You J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials. 2+ years of tax experience gained in a major accounting firm or law firm. Experience researching and assessing complex federal tax issues. Exposure to entity formation, deal structuring and M&A transactions. LL.M. in Taxation preferred. Excellent writing, communication and analytical skills. Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex subject matter in a fast-paced environment. Team-oriented with the ambition and drive to contribute to the growth of a national practice. Why Apply? Base salary range: $220,000 - $320,000 depending on experience.
