Lead HVAC Installation TechnicianWe are seeking an experienced and dependable Lead HVAC Installation Technician to oversee and perform residential and/or commercial HVAC system installations. This role leads installation crews, ensures high-quality workmanship, maintains safety standards, and delivers exceptional customer service while meeting project timelines and company standards.The ideal candidate has strong technical HVAC knowledge, leadership experience, and the ability to train and mentor team members in the field.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise HVAC installation crews on residential and/or commercial projectsInstall heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems according to manufacturer specifications and local codesRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation plansEnsure all installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standardsCoordinate jobsite activities, materials, and equipment needsTroubleshoot installation issues and provide technical guidance to team membersCommunicate professionally with customers, project managers, and office staffTrain and mentor junior technicians and apprenticesPerform system startup, testing, and final inspectionsMaintain accurate job documentation, including installation reports and material usageEnsure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policiesMaintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in proper working conditionRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required5+ years of HVAC installation experiencePrior leadership or crew lead experience preferredStrong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, ductwork, and refrigeration principlesAbility to read blueprints and technical diagramsEPA Certification requiredValid driver's license with clean driving recordStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and customer service abilitiesAbility to lift 50+ pounds and work in varying weather conditionsFamiliarity with local mechanical and building codesPreferred QualificationsNATE CertificationExperience with commercial HVAC systemsSheet metal fabrication experienceKnowledge of heat pumps, VRF systems, and smart controlsBilingual skills are a plusSkills & CompetenciesLeadership and team managementTime management and organizationTechnical proficiencyAttention to detailSafety awarenessCustomer-focused mindsetDependability and professionalismWork EnvironmentField-based position with travel to job sitesMay require evening, weekend, or overtime work during peak seasonsExposure to outdoor weather conditions, attics, crawl spaces, and construction environments
