AI Governance Lead / Manager

Location: Montreal, QC - 100% Remote
Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent FTE

Role Purpose: Establish and operationalize AI governance frameworks to ensure responsible, secure, compliant, and value-driven adoption of AI across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement AI governance, risk, and compliance frameworks .

• Establish policies, standards, and controls for AI/GenAI solutions .

• Ensure compliance with regulatory, privacy, security, and ethical AI requirements.

• Lead AI risk assessments, model reviews, and approval processes .

• Monitor AI models for performance, bias, explainability, transparency, and accountability.

• Drive AI lifecycle governance across development, deployment, and operations.

• Partner with Legal, Security, Data, Risk, and Business teams to align AI initiatives with enterprise requirements.

• Develop governance dashboards, KPIs, metrics, and executive reporting .

• Monitor evolving AI regulations, standards, and industry best practices.

• Promote Responsible AI awareness and governance adoption across business units.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of AI/ML, Generative AI, LLMs, and MLOps .

• Experience in AI Governance, AI Risk Management, Compliance, or Data Governance .

• Knowledge of Responsible AI principles, Model Risk Management, and AI regulations .

• Familiarity with NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, EU AI Act, and Microsoft Responsible AI .

• Strong understanding of AI lifecycle governance, risk assessment, and compliance controls.

• Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, and executive communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Risk, Governance, or a related field .

• 8+ years of experience in AI, data, governance, risk, compliance, or related roles.

• Relevant certifications in AI, Risk, Security, or Governance are preferred.

• Experience working with enterprise AI governance frameworks and cross-functional teams is an asset.
