Pipe & Mechanical Project Estimator

Black & Veatch is seeking a Piping and Mechanical Equipment Project Estimator. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Work on Piping and Mechanical estimates in the following Industries: Advanced Power Generation (APG), LNG/FLNG, Oil and Gas, Water/Wastewater, Process Industries.
• Manage multiple professionals and projects.
• Support development of complete proposal estimates by combining multi-discipline inputs for Piping and Mechanical Equipment scopes.
• Review design scopes, perform quantity takeoffs, and analyze construction productivity.
• Develop estimate components including contingency, escalation, and cost reconciliation.
• Perform cross-project comparisons of scope, quantities, and costs.
• Prepare management presentations and maintain historical cost data.
• Review designs/specifications for cost efficiency and recommend improvements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and related change management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5-20 years of relevant experience.
• Field and/or Project experience.
• Knowledgeable Piping and/or Mechanical skillset.
• Project Field experience.
• Good presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
• The ability to manage workload in one or more projects.
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) proficiency.
• Experience with estimating databases is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 6 to 20 years of relevant experience, including some estimating experience, is required.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Work Environment/Physical Demands: Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.

Salary Plan: EST: Estimating

Compensation Transparency: In accordance with local requirements, the annual compensation ranges for this role are listed below by state or jurisdiction and reflect the applicable office location(s) within each.

• State of Colorado: $125,653 - $188,529
• State of Minnesota: $119,942 - $179,960

Job Grade: 016
