Brinker’s Jewelers is seeking an organized, personable, and detail-oriented Watch Department Coordinator to serve as the central point of communication between our customers, sales team, watchmakers, vendors, and repair partners.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys watches, thrives on keeping many moving pieces organized, and is equally comfortable talking with a customer about their timepiece as they are tracking down a part, following up with a vendor, or making sure a repair is moving through the department as promised.

The Watch Department Coordinator plays an important role in creating an exceptional customer experience while keeping the operational side of the department accurate, efficient, secure, and well organized.

 

What You’ll Do

Customer & Repair Coordination

• Serve as a primary point of contact for customers with watches undergoing service or repair.
• Communicate repair estimates, service recommendations, expected completion dates, delays, and completed repairs clearly and professionally.
• Proactively contact customers when a repair timeline changes rather than waiting for customers to request an update.
• Help customers understand repair recommendations and next steps in approachable, non-technical language.
• Coordinate communication between customers, sales associates, watchmakers, and outside service providers.
• Ensure completed watches are properly documented, prepared, and ready for customer pickup.
• Help resolve routine customer concerns and know when an issue should be escalated to management or a watchmaker.

Parts, Vendors & Repair Administration

• Order watch parts, straps, bracelets, batteries, crystals, crowns, movements, and other components from approved vendors.
• Track outstanding parts orders and follow up with vendors regarding availability, backorders, pricing, and delivery timelines.
• Maintain accurate documentation associated with watch repairs, parts orders, estimates, customer approvals, and service history.
• Assist with sending and receiving watches from outside repair facilities and manufacturers.
• Verify incoming parts and completed outside repairs for accuracy before closing out the associated job.
• Monitor open repairs and identify jobs that have stalled, exceeded expected turnaround times, or require additional follow-up.
• Help maintain an organized inventory of commonly used watch parts, batteries, straps, spring bars, and department supplies.

Watch Department Support

• Serve as a knowledgeable resource for the sales team regarding watch service, common repairs, expected turnaround times, parts availability, warranties, and department procedures.
• Help educate sales associates on watch-related topics so they can better set customer expectations.
• Maintain clear communication between the sales floor and craftspeople performing watch work.
• Assist with basic watch services when appropriate and within your level of training, including:
  • Changing watch straps
  • Sizing and shortening bracelets
  • Replacing batteries
  • Changing spring bars
  • Basic watch handling and inspection
• Develop deeper product and technical knowledge through ongoing training and interaction with our watch professionals.

Watch Display & Security

• Assist with the daily opening and closing procedures for watch merchandise.
• Carefully place watches in their appropriate displays each morning and securely return merchandise to the vault at closing.
• Ensure watches are correctly positioned, clean, presentable, and properly merchandised in showcases.
• Make sure display watches are set appropriately and presented consistently.
• Monitor quartz watches to ensure they are running and arrange battery replacement when necessary.
• Identify watches requiring cleaning, adjustment, service, or attention before they are presented to customers.
• Follow all company security, inventory-control, merchandise-handling, and vault procedures without exception.

Required Qualifications

• Previous retail, luxury retail, jewelry, customer service, hospitality, or similarly customer-facing experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional organization and follow-through.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Comfortable managing multiple customer jobs and deadlines simultaneously.
• Ability to communicate confidently with customers when delivering both good news and disappointing news, including repair delays or unexpected service requirements.
• Comfortable working collaboratively with sales professionals, craftspeople, vendors, and management.
• Ability to handle valuable merchandise responsibly and consistently follow security procedures.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn point-of-sale, repair-tracking, inventory, and vendor-ordering systems.
• Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for a luxury retail environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with watches, jewelry, or luxury goods.
• Familiarity with common watch terminology, brands, movements, and service procedures.
• Experience changing watch batteries, straps, spring bars, or sizing bracelets.
• Previous experience coordinating repairs, service tickets, work orders, or customer projects.
• Experience ordering parts or communicating with manufacturers and vendors.
• Experience working alongside craftspeople, technicians, jewelers, watchmakers, or other skilled tradespeople.

Formal watchmaking experience is not required . A genuine interest in watches, mechanical products, or technical craftsmanship—and a willingness to learn—is highly valued.
