Clinical Operations Project Lead

The Clinical Operations Project Lead (COPL) provides strategic input into the global development plan and directs, supervises, and manages all operational aspects of global clinical projects. The role is accountable for ensuring quality deliverables on time and within budget. As a core member of the Global Project Team (GPT) and co-manager of the Clinical Sub-Team (CST), the COPL leads large, complicated program development and/or multiple programs with minimal guidance. Main Responsibilities Operational strategy & execution: Responsible for providing input into the operational strategy, preparing operational assumptions at the project level to support development of global study budgets, and accountable for development of operational plans. This includes proposing optimal clinical operations solutions and scopes of work that create the most value for the project and the company. Ensure the study/program performance within the CSO and drive the multi-disciplinary CSO project team according to project requirements and defined project objectives. Accountable for COSL resources planning; drive and coach COls for study execution. Represent CSO when collaborating, goal setting with other functions, and across projects, enabling functions to meet the requirements, milestones, and deliverables of the clinical development plan as defined by the GPT. Contribute to CSO business expansion and innovation, including the use of digital tools/AI to accelerate the portfolio. Identify opportunities for improving organizational processes to drive operational excellence. Manage and develop team: Ensure performance and development cycle is completed for all direct reports (COSLs), set priorities, identify people skills and needs, support sub-group to develop Individual Development Plans, and provide regular performance feedback. Mentor other COPL, COSLs, and indirect reports. About You Strong project management experience, transversal and strategic leadership capabilities, and business acumen are required. You have the ability to drive a high-performance cross-functional team that empowers and motivates individual members and the team as a whole. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills enable effectively collaborating with internal and external stakeholders (physicians, scientists, project heads, and managers from various disciplines) and setting and managing expectations clearly. You proactively ensure targets and milestones are met and capitalize on opportunities to exceed expectations. You serve as an internal consultant and primary liaison with all groups outside the CSO for projects. You possess outstanding and proven project management skills, the capability to handle large, complicated global projects, a strong understanding of business strategy and processes, and excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Your innovative mindset supports the introduction of new ways of working and digital tools. You are customer and quality-focused, drive decision-making, take thoughtful risks, and possess strong negotiation skills. Your proficiency in coaching, mentoring, and presenting at the C‑Suite level with clear and concise messaging is critical. You are results-driven, a self-starter, detail-oriented, and equipped to manage conflict and navigate organizational politics and team dynamics. Education and Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field with 15+ years of laboratory, medical, or pharmaceutical research experience in a pharmaceutical industry setting, including at least 10 years managing projects or international clinical studies. An advanced degree is preferred. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $206,250.00 - $297,916.66.
