Position Overview

The Financial Planning Associate builds, maintains, and stress-tests comprehensive financial plans for families. This role owns planning accuracy and completeness, translates complex analysis into clear recommendations, and develops repeatable processes to support consistent planning quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, run, and maintain financial plans for each household on a regular review schedule.

• Identify planning gaps, validate assumptions, and ensure plans remain current and complete.

• Analyze scenarios involving retirement income, tax, estate planning, insurance, and liquidity events.

• Model “what-if” scenarios during meetings and translate results into actionable decisions.

• Prepare planning materials for client reviews and family meetings.

• Maintain accurate, current, and reconciled data within the planning platform.

• Coordinate with outside CPAs, attorneys, and insurance professionals to validate planning inputs.

• Develop repeatable planning processes and templates.

• Communicate planning findings clearly to families and advisors.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of hands-on financial planning experience as an associate or analyst.

• Demonstrated ability to manage financial plans and scenario analysis from start to finish.

• Strong proficiency with financial planning software and Excel.

• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.

• Strong planning judgment and attention to detail.

• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

• A proactive approach to building and improving repeatable processes.

Preferred Credentials

• CFP certification or active progress toward certification is preferred but not required.

• Planning judgment and communication skills are prioritized.
