HVAC Truck Based Chiller Journeyman Mechanic (union)

Job Overview This position will service the Savannah, Pooler and Brunswick areas. What You Will Do Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items. Act as a trusted advisor, providing solutions and outcomes during commissioning and aftermarket service. Recommend and implement solutions to ensure facilities run efficiently, including upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions. Perform troubleshooting, startup, commissioning, and aftermarket service for HVAC products, including residential and ducted systems, air‑cooled and water‑cooled chillers, AHUs, and rooftop ducted units. Repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines and screw chiller system components. Travel 10%–20% to support branch customers. Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiency. Requirements Member of or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry (UA) of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO. Minimum of 3 years of practical experience on residential and/or ducted HVAC products, air‑cooled or water‑cooled chillers, AHUs, or rooftop ducted units. Strong HVAC/mechanical troubleshooting skills. Ability to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, and screw chiller components. Willingness to travel 10%–20% for startup, commissioning, and aftermarket services. Valid EPA refrigerant license, applicable state or local licensing, and valid driver’s license. Strong communication and writing skills for customer interactions and quoting. Self‑starter with a passion to learn and apply on the job. Commitment to safety in all work. Compensation Pay Range: $35.45 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
