Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (mid-level) Location: Oak Harbor, OH Type: Contract Compensation: $52.00 - DOE Contractor Work Model: Onsite – onsite Hours: 40 hours/week Security Clearance: Must be a US Citizen due to Nuclear restrictions Overview System One is e are seeking a high-caliber Mechanical Engineer to join an engineering team in Oak Harbor, OH . This role is part of team working on nuclear project. Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities
- Work on planning, design, procurement, and quality of installation of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Complete project specific objectives on time, under direction of Sr. Mechanical Engineer; receive instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
- Assist mechanical designers and drafters in developing the structural design of equipment and piping systems using computer-assisted design (CAD) and 3D design software.
- Research, design, evaluate, and oversee the installation of equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements applying knowledge of engineering principles.
- Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems.
- Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification.
- Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
- Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
- Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review, to implement operating procedures, and resolve system malfunctions.
- Provide specific to discipline technical expertise to the degree of preparing and providing training for other personnel; both within the company and for the customer.
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
- Power Plant, Process, and/or Heavy Industrial Design experience.
- Pipe Stress Analysis.
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
- Complex Problem Solving.
- Good Communication Skills (Active Listening, Verbal and Written).
- Critical Thinking.
- Judgment and Decision Making.
- Attention to Detail.
- Strong desire to learn.
- Must be a US Citizen due to Nuclear restrictions.
- FE and PE or willingness to obtain both.
- Energy and Chemical and/or Power Design Engineering Experience.
